Linda Snyder is the consummate entrepreneur and business professional. Her skills and accomplishments include:
- More than ten years experience working collaboratively with executive level staff of large organizations, state legislators, municipal officials, and chambers of commerce.
- Extensive background in developing and implementing short & long term goals and objectives for entrepreneurial start-ups and complex organizations; strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Skilled public speaker and technical/grant-proposal writer with very strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Veteran member of numerous municipal, business and arts-related boards and committees.
- Winner of several awards and nominations for economic development, demonstrating solid achievements in business strategy and corporate finance.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Built a start-up company from a single person to 230 employees within 7 years, and to $8.5 million in sales in 9 years.
- Developed and presented a range of workshops and classes on topics related to business and interpersonal communications.
- Created the position of Housing Developer for a non-profit agency; worked nearly 3 years as a low income rental subsidy administrator (Section 8, Shelter+Care, and BRAP) and grant writer, working with HUD and Maine State Housing Programs.
- Wrote a grant proposal that landed a 16-month contract with the State of Maine to provide information and education on public policy to primary & secondary consumers of the mental health system.
- Over 25 years of experience as a commercial and/or residential landlord; 10 years as a real estate developer. Owned and managed 49,000 sf of commercial real estate and over 2 dozen housing units.
- Master's Degree in Administration of Adult Education programs; her undergraduate major was Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Education.
Linda's dedication to volunteerism and community service is extensive. A few recent highlights include:
- Auburn, Maine Lions Club, February 2009 to present. Membership & Public Relations committees chair.
- LA Arts, June 2003 to present. Chair of Long-Range Planning Committee, spring/summer 2004.
- Androscoggin Chamber Board of Directors, October 2000 to September 2006. Currently a member of several committees including What We Stand For and the Legislative Committee.
- Auburn Business Association Board of Directors, September 2004 to August 2008; President of the Board, May 2006-May 2008.
- Mayors' Joint Services Commission, appointed by the Mayors of Lewiston and Auburn, October 2004 to November 2006.
- Downtown Advisory Board, appointed by the Mayor of Lewiston, April 2002 to June 2007.
- A City of Lewiston delegate to the All America Cities Competition, June 2006.
- Member of Auburn and Lewiston, Maine Rotary clubs since 2003.
